Not eating sugar is really hard. Sugar is everywhere you look. Want some multi-grain Sun Chips? Sugar. How about some beef jerky? Sugar. And it's not easy having your best friend telling you you're stupid for not eating sugar. I have found alternatives to sugar though. I made some apple pie thingies with what can only be described as 'one step above refined sugar'. I made them by soaking dehydrated apples in apple juice. Then stirring my Evaporated Cane Juice and freshly ground cinnamon into the mixture. I heated the concoction over med-high heat to try and thicken the filling. After I got it to my desired thickness I spooned a little onto a spring roll wrapper and wrapped it like a spring roll. I deep fried them and sprinkled a little bit of cinnamon-evaporated-cane-juice on them.
I must admit, it's a Far Cry from health food, but it's not refined and it gives the eater a quick Rush. |

MARCH 17, 2008.
I made some doughnuts a while ago, but I just remembered that I took pictures and was going to post them on the website! So here's the pictures. In case you were wondering, they're yeast donuts and they're rather easy to make. I got the recipe at FoodNetwork.com. You could make the recipe a bit healthier by using Raspadura (sometimes known as rapadura) sugar instead of refined sugar, and replacing the shortening with coconut oil. |

OCTOBER 26
The other candy I got while I was out the other day is... CHOCOLATE COVERED POP ROCKS! Everything is better if you put chocolate on or in it. Pop Rocks with chocolate is really good. When you first put it in your mouth it won't pop right away. First the chocolate (which tastes great) has to melt, then the Pop Rocks work their patented magic and explode. They remind me of Nerds (the candy, not the guy at your school) in the way they are shaped. I give it a 4, out of 5. |

Bubblicious Ink'd
Bubblicious Ink'd is a bubble gum that has sour liquid candy center and turns your tongue and, in my case teeth, blue. The sourness doesn't last very long, but hey, sometimes that's a good thing. It blows well, just like all Bubblicious bubble gum. A 4, out of 5. |

SEPTEMBER 28
My mom also got these amazing chocolates in Amsterdam. They're so smooth, creamy, and delicious. Their wrappers have printings of paintings on them, along with who made 'em and when. My little glutton, I mean brother, thinks he has eaten twenty or so in the last three days. He's a little pig. I usually break the bar into tiny pieces that I let melt in my mouth, one by one. I want to make S'mores out of them. Oh, and I know what you're thinking; Amsterdam chocolates? There must be a 'secret ingredient', if you know what I mean. ;) Well there isn't. It's just really good chocolate. |

| I have met a few adults lately who have lived in my area their whole lives and have never heard of Abba-Zaba bars. That, to me, is just wrong. It's a candy that's made in Hayward, just 25 miles away from San Jose, and they've never heard of it! So now when I meet an adult who's lived here for years upon years and they haven't had one, I give them an Abba-Zaba. I've already given three away. |

I was at my friend's house a while ago (I wouldn't say he's my friend, I just play cards with him, bicycle with him, airsoft with him, hang out with him, play video games with him and eat all his food. That's no friend.) and I was looking through his family's ample supply of sugary candy when I spotted something I've never seen before: Caramel Apple Sugar Babies! I tried a small (okay, it was huge) hand full. The apple flavored candy coating attacked my taste buds and lingered for a long time, it overwhelmed the tasty caramel Sugar Baby center. All in all, you can't really taste caramel apple, you taste apple, and if you chew long enough maybe you will taste caramel too.
